Yes – our fleet includes a variety of frame sizes to suit a range of riders. We want everyone to feel confident and comfortable on their ride. We have found 150cm is the lower limit for our Ebike riders. Whether you’re petite or tall, we’ll do our best to match you with the right bike. Just let us know any sizing concerns when you book, and we’ll ensure your eBike is ready and suitable for you on the day.

Yes – our eBikes use pedal-assist technology, which means the assistance only kicks in when you’re pedalling. This makes hills and longer rides much easier, while still keeping you active. It’s a fun and empowering way to ride, especially through McLaren Vale’s rolling terrain. In line with Australian laws, our eBikes rely on pedalling as the main source of movement on public roads and shared-use trails

We’re lucky to be based in a region full of scenic cycling routes. Check our Itineraries page. The Shiraz Trail and Flat to Vale Trail are two popular options that are mostly flat, family-friendly, and take you through vineyards and beautiful countryside. We also recommend quiet back roads that connect local cellar doors and attractions.

If you have an itinerary in mind, we’ll help you navigate it – or you can choose one of our self-guided routes, which are updated regularly to reflect trail upgrades and venue opening hours. We have ridden most of the roads and trails in the region and have posted a few ideas for you here

For bookings of less than 10 people we offer a 48-hour blame-free cancellation policy. Simply email us at [email protected] at least 48 hours in advance for a full refund. Cancellations made within 24-48 hours prior to schedules hire time will receive a 50% credit voucher towards your next ride. No credit / refund is provided if cancellation is made less than 24 hours prior to scheduled hire time.

For bookings of 10 people or more, if you cancel more than 96 hours before your scheduled hire time, we’ll provide a full refund – no questions asked. If you cancel 72 hours prior to scheduled hire time, we’ll offer a 50% credit that you can use to book another ride in the future. No credit / refund is provided if cancellation is made less than 72 hours prior to scheduled hire time.

Absolutely – SA eBikes is a family-friendly experience! At our McLaren Vale Visitor Centre hub, we offer eCargo bikes that can carry 1–2 children behind the rider. We also have a range of child accessories, including trailers, tag-alongs, and rear-mounted child seats. All riders, including children, must wear an approved helmet, which we provide. If you’d prefer, you’re welcome to bring your own helmet for your child as long as it meets Australian standards.

Possibly – if bikes are booked for a full day hire, they need to be returned 15 minutes before closing. We can accomodate late returns, home pickup, or overnight hire with prior notice (fees apply). If bikes are returned late without prior arrangement, a fee of $1.00 per minute per bike applies after closing time.

We provide full support while you’re out exploring. If you experience a mechanical issue or flat tyre, just call our support number (listed on the bike) and we’ll send someone to assist you quickly – usually within minutes. We’ll repair or swap your bike so you can get back to enjoying your ride without too much delay. Your safety and experience are our top priority, and we’ve built our reputation on friendly, responsive service.

Our eBikes comply with Australia law, with pedal-assist support cutting out at 25 km/h. This speed is ideal for enjoying the region safely and is more than enough for most riders. Like any bike, you might go faster when coasting downhill but the motor won’t assist beyond 25 km/h. This keeps the ride enjoyable, energy-efficient, and within the limits for riding on public roads and shared trails.

Yes! We sell both new eBikes and we regularly offer second hand bikes as part of our fleet refurbishment. We have incorporated many different eBikes into our fleet over the years and can give you an unbiased view on the pros and cons of the many options and help you find a suitable eBike for your style of riding.

Most of our eBikes can comfortably travel 80 km on a single charge, depending on factors like rider weight, wind conditions, terrain, and what level of pedal assist you use. This range is more than enough for a full-day adventure around McLaren Vale and the surrounding trails. If you have the ebikes for a multi-day hire, we provide a charger and instructions on how to use it. We’ll always send you out with a fully charged battery and help you plan a route that suits your confidence and distance goals.

Our eTukTuks are designed for shorter journeys on the flat trails with plenty of breaks along the way. We recommend planning a 15 km route – see our Itinerary Inspirations for lots of ideas

Like all tour operators, our tours are structured in a way to maximise your enjoyment. We can make minor changes to an itinerary but need to balance that with time and distance. Custom or self guided tours are sometimes a better option – talk with us and we can suggest an itinerary to suit your taste

Yes, for hire products with groups of over 10 riders, the eleventh rider is free.

Yes – we have previously created bespoke outings for groups. We can work with you to ensure the ride has most elements you may also wish to incorporate into “Team Bonding” exercises… or we can design it for fun.

• Ortus Wines – a great place to start your adventure…and so close to the Willunga Farmer’s Market!
• Beresford Wines – in the Blewitt Springs sub-region, the heart of Grenache in McLaren Vale.
• DogRidge Wines – Canvas and Grapes – art can be found with both at this cellar door (and a few local koalas if you are lucky)

You will be spoilt for choice.

• Shiraz Trail – Connecting McLaren Vale and Willunga, the trail offers beautiful vineyard views, access to cellar doors, and a mostly flat, paved surface, making it suitable for various fitness levels.
• Flat to Vale Trail – As the name suggests, connects McLaren Flat to McLaren Vale. The trail is sealed, flat, and features views of vineyards and Pedler Creek, with some sections alongside Chalk Hill Road.
• Coast to Vines Trail – follows the original railway line for 37 kms, offering coastal views, vineyard landscapes, and access to the McLaren Vale wine region. The trail is well-maintained, with gentle gradients and features like underpasses and bridges, making it suitable for various skill levels

Connecting all of these trails is a network of quiet country roads where you will find Wineries, Breweries, Restaurants, Beautiful Vistas and the occassional native animal. The perfect setting to spend the day at the pace you want.

A. Imagine a water tank filled with water. If a pipe near the bottom of the tank is open, the water flowing through the pipe will go further if the height of the water above the pipe is 48m high compared with a tank where the water height is 36m. Consider ‘V’oltage as the ‘V’ertical height of the water – 48m high water (48V eBike) the water flowing out through the pipe feels more powerful (to drive the ebike) when compared with 36m high water tank).

Think of eBike Watts as being like the size of the pipe. If the size of the pipe (or the Watts of the motor) increases, the water flowing through the pipe (or the power of the eBike) also increases.

A. No — as long as it’s compliant (250W, 25 km/h limit, pedal assist only).

No. EN 15194 is based on the motor’s rated power. If it’s 750W, it’s not compliant, even if electronically limited.

Only a 6 km/h walk assist throttle, (or a full throttle on an eBike with a motor of only 200W), are legal. Anything else makes the bike a motorbike.

You can only ride it on private property. On public roads or paths, you risk fines and insurance problems.

There is no age limit but Dandelion Vineyards is at the top of the hill overlooking McLaren Vale. So guests need to be comfortable riding their ebike on hills. The eBikes make this relatively easy, but if you are uncertain of your ability give us a call to discuss options.

Once daylight saving starts (on Oct 5th), the sun sets at 7.15pm and becomes progressively later until Jan 6th (the latest sunset), when the sun sets at 8.34pm.

Daylight saving ends April 5th, after which time the sun sets at 6.04pm and becomes progressively earlier.

Sadly the roads are not suitable for the tuktuks in this part of McLaren Vale. We recommend choosing a route along the Shiraz or Flat to Vale trails for the tuktuks, and joining the bike riders in the group at Dandelion Vineyards later using alternative transport.

There are 4 main wine regions surrounding the city of Adelaide. Ninety minutes and 2 hours north of the city respectively, are the Barossa Valley (known for their bold reds), and Clare Valley (known for their crisp whites). Only 40 mins from the city, the gorgeous hamlets of the Adelaide Hills, and the spectacular coastal wine region of McLaren Vale are our recommendations for day trips. With so much to do, they are also great places to base yourself for a longer stay.

We recommend getting between cellar doors on e-bikes for a fun and eco-friendly wine tour. In McLaren Vale there is a strong network of bike trails linking the cellar doors, and SA eBikes (based at the McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Coast Visitor Information Centre, on Main Rd McLaren Vale) have a large range of e-bikes to suit different rider style, size and ability. The trains to Seaford leave from platform 1 at Adelaide Railway Station ~every 30 mins, starting from 5.30am weekdays and 7am on weekends.

Scroll down to Zone A Seaford Interchange to find the time the bus leaves Seaford Railway Station to go to McLaren Vale. Get off at Stop 86 for The McLaren Vale Visitor Centre. The train trip takes 45-55 mins (depending on how many stops it makes), and the bus takes an additional 7 minutes.

The Adelaide Railway Station is on North Tce, just west (downhill) from the King William Rd intersection. Individual tickets can be purchased at the information counter or at self serve machines at the Adelaide station, or onboard the train. A one-way paper ticket (valid for both the train and any onward connecting bus within 2 hours), is $6.60.

Our partners, including Angove and Dandelion, strictly adhere to Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) guidelines and provide food to accompany tastings. As a rider, you are legally required to adhere to the same road rules and blood alcohol limits as if you were driving a car.

Your safety is our priority. Guests who are deemed unsafe to continue due to intoxication will not be permitted to ride further. In such instances, the guide will arrange a taxi at the guest’s expense to ensure a safe return.

We recommend comfortable, weather-appropriate athletic or casual wear and sunscreen. We strongly advise against wearing very loose pant legs or long, flowing dresses/skirts, as these can become caught in the bike’s chain or spokes. Consider bringing a light jacket or windbreaker, as the breeze in the Vale can be cool even on sunny days.

Your experience is our priority. In the event of light rain, we provide high-quality ponchos. If the weather is deemed unsafe or truly miserable for riding, we pivot to a “Luxury Van Tour”. You will still enjoy the private Adelaide transfers, the premium tastings, and the 3-course lunch, but we will transport you between venues in the comfort of our climate-controlled vehicle.

No. Your tour price is truly all-inclusive, covering your door-to-door Adelaide transfers, e-bike hire and safety gear, all scheduled wine tastings, and your premium 3-course lunch. The only additional costs would be for any wine you choose to purchase and ship home or extra beverages outside the included lunch menu.

Absolutely. We have plenty of storage in our support vehicle/transfer van to safely carry any bottles you purchase during the day. Our partners also offer national and international shipping options if you find a vintage you can’t live without.

Yes. While you’ll spend most of your time enjoying the fresh air on the e-bikes, our transfer vehicle remains in the region and is available for mechanical support or to transport any purchases you make along the way.

The day is designed to be relaxed and unhurried. We spend more time enjoying the premium venues and views than we do “hard riding”. The total cycling distance is approximately 15 km, spread out across several hours with frequent stops.

No specialized license is required, the TukTuks are legal e-Bikes. Because these are unique three-wheeled vehicles, we provide a comprehensive safety briefing and driving induction before you head out into the vines.

Our e-TukTuks are designed with a low center of gravity, making them incredibly stable and easy to maneuver compared to two-wheeled vehicles.

They are pedal assist electric trikes. There are no gears to shift, allowing you to focus on the road and the stunning McLaren Vale scenery.

Our e-TukTuks are designed for boutique, small-group experiences. Typically, they comfortably seat a driver and two passengers, making them ideal for couples or a small group of friends.

Yes, the e-TukTuk is our most accessible vehicle for those who cannot operate a bicycle. While guests must be able to self-transfer into the vehicle’s seating, we can accommodate a manual wheelchair on board to be used at your winery and lunch stops.

Absolutely. The e-TukTuks have “boots”, making it very easy to carry wine back. Alternatively, cellar doors can often arrange for shipping of wine to your preferred destination.
