Onkaparinga Gorge & McLaren Vale e-Bike Experience

Escape Adelaide for a day that combines spectacular scenery, rewarding adventure and the relaxed hospitality of McLaren Vale.

Your experience begins with a private transfer in our fully electric Jaguar I-PACE to Onkaparinga River National Park, where your guide will lead you on one of South Australia's most scenic short hikes.

Descend into the impressive Onkaparinga Gorge, where towering cliffs and native bushland surround the tranquil river below. Cross the river via its natural rocky ford—either by carefully rock-hopping or wading through the shallow water, depending on conditions—before tackling the steeper climb out of the gorge on the southern side. The walk covers approximately 3.4 kilometres and includes some steep sections, rewarding your efforts with breathtaking views across the gorge.

At the top of the climb, your adventure continues on an electric bike. After a short briefing, enjoy a relaxed ride through quiet country roads and picturesque backroads as you descend into the vineyards of McLaren Vale.

Food, beverages and tastings are purchased on the day, giving you the freedom to choose the experiences that best suit your appetite, interests and budget.

One of our recommendations is Beresford Estate's Vale Restaurant, where you can find local craft beer, premium wines and a range of lunch options.

After our break, we will continue along the scenic Flat to Vale Trail, cycling past vineyards, ancient gum trees and open countryside to Oxenberry Farm. Here you could finish the afternoon with a coffee and/or a locally made gelati or just  have a wander around the peaceful billabong.

At the end of the day, relax as we transfer you comfortably back to Adelaide.

This experience is ideal for active travellers who enjoy combining nature and adventure.

Thanks Shayne for a fantastic tour yesterday. We dropped in for a couple of tastings at some beautiful wineries. The region is perfect to take in on bikes as it is so picturesque and the wineries are close together. We finished off with lunch overlooking the vines. There were 7 of us and we all found the bikes easy to use and great on the hills.
